Zeist, 9 April 2008 – The Ampere Equity Fund has acquired a 32% shareholding in the Koegorspolder wind farm, with a capacity of 44 megawatts the largest operational onshore wind farm in the Netherlands. The project was developed by Evelop, part of the leading sustainable energy company Econcern. The Koegorspolder wind farm, which is located in the province of Zeeland, is equipped with 22 Vestas V80 turbines of 2 megawatts with a hub height of 80 meters. The wind farm delivers 120,000 megawatt hours green electricity per year, serving the needs of approximately 35,000 households. The construction started in May 2007 and the park has been in full operation since the beginning of 2008. The Ampere Equity FundThe Ampere Equity Fund BV was initiated by Evelop and launched in October 2007. Cornerstone investors are the pension funds ABP (managed by APG) and Pension fund Zorg and Welzijn (managed by PGGM) and the insurance company Delta Lloyd. Triodos Bank, with its longstanding expertise in sustainable energy financing, provides the management of the Ampère Equity Fund. The Fund provides a dedicated source of equity finance for the project portfolio of Evelop. In addition to the Koegorspolder project, the Fund will invest up to EUR 500 million in renewable energy projects across Europe.
