DIF Renewable Energy purchases 44 MW wind farm in the Netherlands from Evelop
Schiphol, Thursday 18 October 2007 - DIF Renewable Energy has acquired a majority shareholding in the 44 MW wind farm Koegorspolder in the South-West of the Netherlands, developed by Evelop, part of Econcern. Koegorspolder is currently under construction and completion is expected by the end of the year. The wind farm will be equipped with 22 Vestas V80 2 MW turbines. The shares are acquired from Evelop; the sustainable energy project developer of Econcern.
Apart from this transaction DIF Renewable Energy is currently reviewing several other high quality investment opportunities in wind farm assets in Western-Europe. DIF Renewable Energy had its first closing of € 67.5 million recently, September 28th, with the European Investment Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe Limited, Stichting Pensioenfonds DSM and Stichting Pensioenfonds Sabic as investors. A second closing is expected in December 2007.
