Evelop and Everest Investment take the next step in property development

MIPIM Cannes, 12 March 2008 -  Evelop – part of the sustainable energy company Econcern – has started developing two energy-sustainable buildings in Luxemburg. These two ‘hypergreen’ buildings will use half the energy required by standard buildings. For this project, Evelop is working in close cooperation with the Everest Investment Group in Luxemburg. This was announced by the two parties today during the MIPIM summit, an international real estate forum.

The two buildings are being developed in Sanem (Luxemburg) on one of Europe’s largest redevelopment sites. Eighty percent of the required electricity will be generated from sustainable sources, including heat and cold storage, solar and wind power. The buildings, which have a total floor area of 24,000m2, will be used mainly for offices, shops and homes.

Evelop Real Estate & Energy Infra and Everest Investment Group are partners in a joint venture launched under the name Everop. The aim of this cooperation is to establish a new standard for large-scale sustainable real estate projects, especially in Luxemburg and France.

Jos Bode, Director of Evelop Real Estate & Energy Infra: “We are proud to make an important contribution to the redevelopment of this area. Through this project we are taking the next step in property development, bringing sustainable energy supplies for everyone one step closer.”
