Offshore wind farms

Offshore wind farms comprise a substantial portion of our overall portfolio. We will develop a large offshore wind farm of approximately 900 MW west of the isle of Wight (United Kingdom). We carried out the design and development work on the Scira offshore wind farm (Sheringham Shoal, United Kingdom), which was later transferred to StatoilHydro. We developed and constructed the 120-MW Prinses Amaliawindpark off the coast of the Dutch town of IJmuiden, 23 kilometres off the Dutch coast.

In Belgium, we developed the 165 MW Belwind project, located 46 kilometres off the coast of Zeebrugge (Belgium), which is currently under construction (and now owned by other parties). No other wind farm in the world is located as far offshore as Belwind. Despite the global economic decline during development, it was good coordination and smart financing that enabled us to bring phase I of this project to financial close. With a four-year development phase compared to the ten years required by others, Belwind is also one of the fastest offshore wind farm developments in the world.

A high level of specialist expertise is required in maintenance and management of offshore wind energy projects. Evelop, through our sister companies within the Eneco group, offers you the possibility to use our management and maintenance services.
