Do you want to build your own energy generating facility on your premises? Building in and around existing infrastructures can be complicated, particularly as available space is often limited. For railway locations, Evelop has developed an innovative concept to install turbines in locations where space is limited. An excellent example of multiple space use is Railwind®, a unique concept involving the installation of wind turbines above existing operating railway tracks.

Together with partners form the railway sector, we will first apply this concept in the Sloehaven industrial area near Vlissingen, the Netherlands. The turbines are installed on specially designed lattice towers, placed directly above the railway tracks. The power generated by the turbines can be supplied directly to the railway grid, or to the local power grid.
