Wind energy in your community

Are you a local community facing climate targets imposed either by regulatory or local demand? Or are you a resident living in a community with sustainability targets? Evelop can provide solutions to help you meet your communities CO2 neutral targets. We do this by helping you to determine the most suitable mix of sustainable energy technologies, including wind, biomass and solar energy, in collaboration with partners in our parent company, Eneco. In case wind energy results in a viable solution, we will help you to realize the project.

Why develop wind energy projects in your community with Evelop?

  • With our knowledge and expertise, we can help you to plan the reduction of your CO2 emission rate with tangible projects.

  • For the residents of your community, you can benefit from our experience when organizing information meetings, public awareness campaigns, and other forms of public communication.

  • We can also help you to propagate your sustainability message by providing educational programs for primary and secondary schools. This way pupils, students and teachers become aware of the importance of sustainable energy and of the concrete measures and (wind) projects the authorities take to reduce the climate change.

  • In order to further increase the support, we can help you create participation programs for residents living nearby the wind turbines. By participating in the exploitation of the wind turbines, residents get personally involved in wind turbine projects and make them their own. This model is called Wind In My Back Yard (WIMBY).

  • In other words: together with you we can determine the most suitable way to use sustainable energy and integrate it into your community.

A good example of combining sustainable energy technologies is our Waalwijk project.  With solar energy, landfill gas and wind energy technology we managed to convert a former waste disposal site into a sustainable power plant providing 6,000 households with green energy.

Another example is the municipality of Heerhugowaard (the Netherlands) who initiated the ‘Stad van de Zon’ project, the first Dutch district with CO2 neutrality targets. In this location, Evelop is installing three wind turbines to provide 2,500 households in the district with sustainable power.
